REAL African Black Soap is made only in West Africa, and only by women. It is a traditional soap used by African families for centuries, and each recipe varies according to each family tradition and the region in which they live.
The mothers share the recipes with their daughters, and they create soap not only for their families, but to sell at markets as well. It creates income for their families and allows their daughters to go to school.

We purchase our African Black Soap as a base from a coop of women in Ghana. Then we rebatch it with our Savvy flair: more ash, french green clay for detox, and our essential oil blend. We mold the batches into bars and cut them to our specifications.
We are the only brand (to date) that cut our soap slices into smaller cubes- this extends the life of the soap and makes it much easier to store. Each soap bar lasts AT LEAST 4 months if used on the whole body. It lasts MUCH LONGER as a facial soap only.

How to Use Daily:
- Lather African Black Soap into your palms
- Sprinkle Bisous Pour Tous Facial Exfoliant into the soap lather; scrub face in circular motion, then rinse. For deeper mechanical AND chemical exfoliation, apply mixture immediately and let lather set on the face like a mask, about 5 minutes. For chemical exfoliation only (for sensitive skin), emulsify the exfoliant into the soap lather until all sugar granules break down (it should feel more like a creamy honey). Then apply to skin and allow to set like a mask, about 5 minutes. Rinse.
- Pat dry, then apply Raven's Balm to freshly prepared skin
Tips:
- Safe for daily use- best at night, before bedtime, allowing the skin to be fully nourished during sleep.
- Yes, you can use the exfoliant daily. If it feels too scratchy or harsh, just emulsify it into the lather until all sugar granules are broken down. You will still get a glycolic acid exfoliation without any of the mechanical exfoliation.
- Don't leave African Black Soap in the shower- it is very humectant, and will get soft and mushy. Store it in a dry place.
- Don't take the Bisous Pour Tous jar into the shower- water will enter the jar and contaminate the product. Instead, use our petite soap basin to hold a scoop of the exfoliant and a square of African Black Soap while showering. Then rinse the basin out and store the soap square in it on the sink counter. That's how we do it. :)
- Use Raven's Balm for every dry area- feet, elbows, knees, chest... and try it on burns, too!
