A Personal Birthday Tribute from Keri
I LOVE a parade-
The natural cheerleader in me gets great thrill out of seeing people SHINE in the things they love to do! And how much more, to see them parade through town while doing it!
Last weekend, Savvy was on display, in all her glory!
Our city hosted their annual "HachieGras" parade- a Mardi Gras-themed display of business and community in Waxahachie, Texas.
For our float, I chose the theme-
SAVVY BOHEME: THE SIREN OF THE SQUARE

We grabbed several of our loyal friends and fam who love to have FUN, told them to come as mermaids & pirates, and then...we built a float.
(Without this guy, Chris Bell, we would have been walking! Thanks, Chris!)

Weather reports predicted a 95% chance of rain that day, but the parade was "Rain or Shine", AND we were on a "SHIP" full of mermaids and pirates, so we figured we were right in our element!
And like true sirens, our ladies were GORGEOUS!

This particular mermaid has been a loyal Savvy fan, friend, and ambassador from the VERY beginning! Suzanne is the Quintessential Savvy Bohemian!

And of course, if you've been in the Savvy store in Waxahachie, you've definitely been served by Miss Vicki:

Or My Solomon (on the right). Dressing up is his literal FAVORITE.

And Fun Fact about Savvy Boheme:
In the past 15 years, we have participated in exactly 3 parades.
And in all 3, we have WON best float.
In this parade, we are the 2-year reigning champs!

But there's one thing you don't know about me:
I'm not shy. But I don't like to step into the limelight, unless I'm speaking or presenting.
I usually try to get someone else to be the "face" of Savvy.
But there have been BIG changes coming to Savvy this year, and it's requiring me to show up in very visible ways...
So. instead of putting one of these beauties at the top of the float like I would normally do, this time,
I ascended to the top of the platform, and took my position. Secure, Established. And soaking-wet. haha!

Because, as I write this, I turned 52 today. And while I have spent my whole lifetime intentionally honoring other people while I minimized my own shine...Today, I honor my own life, and the contribution I have added to the world to date.
Today, I celebrate my life, and the courage I've shown to myself, my family, and to the Lord through my "YES" to His callings and the dreams He has put in my heart, and to say "NO" to everything else that draws me away from those dreams and callings.
The word "encourage" means to have COURAGE in the HEART.
Today, I encourage myself in the Lord. I take courage.
I step up.
And the best of all:
I can see for miles and miles from this vantage point...
And I LOVE what I see.
Onward! For Savvy! For my Family! For the Lord!
In Courage,
Keri
